Mabon and The Master Plan

The Autumn Equinox, the harvest and changing of the seasons. I also cycle through the Wheel of the Year with composing tracks for my forthcoming album (2018 release) 8 Sabbats’ by Earth Tree Healing.

The darkness is coming. I’m at the point of disillusionment in Muggleland. Whilst grateful the bills get paid and a few treats. Its very easy to get sucked into that vortex and remain totally unfulfilled and frustrated. Anxiety and stress levels increase.  Change is on the horizon. Which is only a good thing. The stagnant pond that has been… needed it. A feeling of hopelessness has enveloped for a month. Whilst I accept I’ll never really fit into that world. It still stings. My soul and fingers are given to creative adventures. Once I enter the healing room/studio. Thats where the magic happens. Bliss returns. A rotation of Rose Quartz and Amethyst is pillow rotation to help the bad dreams of late.

Yes these current energies are creating havoc. When one feels them as I do. It makes my exposure to the bad ones, the liars, the lazys, the users, the manipulators .. one giant ice cream headache. In this world I am at time so very lost and disappointed with peoples selfishness.

Even after a week off on hols. We did some serious life reevaluating. I want to become a recluse for 6 months and recharge. But…the drive to succeed is strong. Sometimes you just have to get on and make the best of what today brings. But on a positive. The practicality and decision to better balance my life has been made and fingers crossed begins soon. The wants for a Hurdy Gurdy after a trip to Arundel Castle watching jousting is a treat waiting to happen.

Getting back to nature and my Pagan roots has been refreshing and inspiring. When one is all time consumed. The Universe will interject occurrences to freeze frame and rethink the master plan.

We spent last Sunday seeing old friends at Pagan Pride in Nottingham. The need to reconnect is now stronger than ever.  A canal boat ride at Cromford Canal. On a sunny Saturday afternoon chatting to strangers was needed. I shot this video footage to Mabon.

A Psychic Supper last night with Sally Wathen at Rainbow Bridge. The realisation further being confirmed each time I visit to just do it! Things, synchronicity and sods law can have one almost bitter seething on the edge of a razor. When you find out the world is flat and enter the rabbit hole. Its time to step back. Switch it all off and make music.

“Some of the ugliest things are the loveliest things.”

It’s time to make waves

With quite a few albums in the pipeline for 2018 onwards. Claudine is a busy Bog Woppit. I keep affirming that everything is going to be ok. It is isnt it?

1 day later. An amazing opportunity occurred…. I love the Universe.

A day after that. Another box ticker. Hard work, dedication, positive mindset. Doing things for the right reason brings an incalculable abundance to my life here.

It shines so very brightly when the right path is followed. 🙂

Candy Pink CL1T EP

Do not listen to this in front of children or the easily or even reasonably offended. You have been warned! This a few of what we deemed as ‘Piss Take’ Songs. Recorded in between the others. People have always given me great writing inspiration. Through their characters, stories or actions. Enjoy!

Pandora’s Box 20th Anniversary Edition

It is really cool revisiting my old recordings. Brings back a lot of good old memories. I hope Grimm is proud of my works after this one. His spirit hangs out regularly. In September 2003 he tragically died. Breaking my world. His death is written about in my book Claudsville Blogs and Biog Of A Bog Woppit  Grimm co-produced this album.

It was Mastered and copied by Pete Smith. The trick to getting any vocal or acoustic guitar takes. Was to attempt to hit record between his many rescue dogs barking. I think their barks add to the album. You will hear a lovely bark at the start of ‘Shadows In Your Eyes.’ I really got into playing my Fender bass better on this album. Albeit Keyboard drums. We made good use of his ART guitar effects , Hamer and Kramer Electric guitars.  Memories huh. I’m struggling a bit with the exact date of release. But needless to say I was a hell of a lot younger. We’d record a song every weekend. Sometimes 2 per weekend. Very productive times.

The album began with ‘Sonic World’ this song exists in various versions.

2016 acoustic version of The Dream Of Zen

For my limited vocal abilities. Grimm really worked on my performances, and song structures during the recording of this in his home Studio in Eastwood, Nottingham. This album reflects where I was at during the mid to late 90’s. Suzanne Vega, Tori Amos, REM, Ruby Blue and Fleetwood Mac were massive influences. So was getting wasted.

Subject matter? Homelessness, craving, lust, obsession, encounters, conspiracies, drugs, weird shit, booze, sexual encounters with a man with one leg, stalking, boyfriends, women, motorbikes, Pete Smith (ex biker boyfriend), freedom on the road and that infamous ‘Popudom Song’ with some little drummer boy artistic licence!

So here it is with its pops, clicks, dogs barking, bum notes. Pandora’s Box with ‘No Rules, Just Ruins’ and Mirrors Of Man (Live)

Enjoy some Claudine West nostalgia.

Serpentine Rivers (Boulevard of Burning)

New song. I performed acoustic guitar and added some improvised piano on this track. While working with loops.

Inspiration: Travel, escape, dreams, visions, unspoken thoughts. I started writing another book. This has some references from its first chapter. So began as a story. Then I watched Beautiful Mind and altered.. wrote, explored further. Sometimes the path winds beyond…

Serpentine Rivers – Claudine West 2016-03-05

Stumble on the words

Use a magic marker

Avenue the view these mornings

In-between this world there’s embers

Fighting sunrise

Patchwork green and Serpentine Rivers

Lead east to the edge, to the rift

I drifted down

Volcanic avalanche (to the riverbed)

To the east

Serpentine Rivers

The traveller seeks silence

In the mind of a freedom journal

Drop the bomb

Creating a boulevard of burning

Burying the dancing matchstick men

That flickered in the lava

The mountain pass that ever last

The path that falls on jagged shadows

Patchwork green and Serpentine Rivers

Lead east to the edge, to the rift

I drifted down

Volcanic avalanche (to the riverbed)

To the east

Serpentine Rivers

It was the pinkest sky I ever saw

The birds turned tables and weather law

Turning round…

The streets this town, the streets this town

Left behind me…

New world orders had sailed beneath me

Phantoms shiver

Limestone Century

New tune! Limestone Century is an essentially funky ‘Bog Woppit’ track from my 2016 forthcoming solo album. I adventure new paths using Pro Tools SE instead of Fostex multi trackers. I’ve put off using it for a while now as dislike reading instructions (So I watched Youtube videos to get me started) Back in my early 20’s I was the reel to reel tape user. Then to 4 track cassette tape. Moving into digital multi trackers. Always a musician and composer (I’m not a sound engineer and wiz at the tech) But I’m slowly learning. Pro tools crashes, pops. But on the whole I’ll persevere. It made music making very easy.  (I’ll save up for the ‘Full Monty’ after California next year) It does take the challenge out of my making it up as I go along. I can tolerate for this album I’m sure 😉

I bought the tiniest midi keyboard for my massive hands. More for recording synth parts for meditation music. The principled self that records everything live with real instruments still gets to do that in part. Fully in our Rock band ‘Subway Circus’  yes I’m having a bit of fun playing with loops and like.

Inhaling my himalayan salt pipe is helping lung recover after that darn nasty lurgy last month.

What’s it about?  I suppose a ‘header’ : Purification, making peace, music. 2016 started off poorly. It’s time to make things alright again.

Once upon a parallel line

The Quintessence of Frequency in an Idyllic Blue Sky

the Sound of the Hedonist:

 Levitate in the Limestone century

The haven’t not decided

The world collapsed inside

Retired and fired up upon too young

Razor wires and battle cries

Idyllic blue sky

Make your peace with makers

And follow lycanthrope a

Panic button

The sound of a heaven rip

Divination walker of the mountains and the underpass

You make your peace with fables

You make your peace with your God

Exceptional Believers and the Mandolin

As the dark afternoons and days fill me with a certain sadness. Hibernation, although it would be easy to slip away. Is a procrastination.  But It is nesting and writing time. I’m in rehearsals for live solo work, as well as with Subway Circus http://subwaycircus.com/ being the resident drummer. So Jim Jams on as soon as the dark hits. Being true to oneself and playing the music I love is the sparkles in the flames of my life.

Here is Exceptional Believers:

And then there was Piano. Rhinos

I wrote this late last year while going through a pretty bad time mentally and emotionally. What do us songwriters do? We write, we exorcise the demons. Therapy.

I was inspired naming it with this article Rhino

words:

Shine a light upon my mountain

But I’m still filling up on dread

World hovers on my shoulders

The past, the present the future then I’m dead

Release, release Rhinos

Unreachable devastation

The Meditation said

To look outside my inner anger

See what Buddha said

I’m making up preservation

I’m talking to the wise

The mechanics of coping

Are practiced many times

When I’m a lone with the demons

I set in motion lots of dealing

On my darkest days

My instruments of adjustment

Stop mental state delays
